I learned a lot about the trials of the Salem Witchcraft trials. Anyone who as a judge could accuse a person for doing witchcraft. If someone concluded a loss of witchcraft, that person would be sent to court. In Salem, witchcraft was the greatest crime anyone could commit. And if they did commit it, they would be put to death. 20 men and women died for no good reason because Abigail and her sister pointed them out for being witchcraft leaders.

Religion -

The Puritans left England to seeking religious tolerance but the Strict Puritan code was very tolerant. It was against the law not to attend Church. Men and women sat on separate sides during long services. The Puritans were expected to work hard and were expected to show their opinions and emotions. Since the Puritans lived from such a rigid moral code. They believed that all sins should overcome that you would be punished.

They also believed that God would punish sinful behavior .The Puritans also believed that the Devil was as good as God. Everyone struggled with the power of good and evil. Those who followed Satan were considered withes. With craft are one of the greatest crime a person could commit and the consequences would be death.

In keeping the code conformity the first women to be accused of witchcraft were seen as different and social outcast. Tituba a slave Sarah; Good, a homeless beggar; and Sarah Osborne, a sickly women who married her servant. Over 100 alleged witches have been tied up and hanged in New England during the 1600s. But the hangings in 1692 in Salem would be one of the last ones in America.

Family Life -
Family life

Family life back during the Salem Witch Trials was very different than lives today. The families had to provide their own food. They had to provide shelter for their family. The families had to act very proper. The children learned by reading books. If a girl ran she would be punished. The children had to work very hard. Boys could hunt and fish. But the girls had to stay home and work. All in all families were very different back then.
